Character ideas free for the taking

1) Angelika Sokal - the leader of the little group (ethnicity - a Polish Slav). A prominent member of the PTA, who does everything she can to hold the group together, because on her own? She doesn't do so well. She would rather be in a team, thank you very much, and ensure that everyone does their part, whether they want to or not. The others humor her because she comes up with the initial impetus for their activities, especially for the group itself...

2) Irena Ferreira - the brain of the group (sort of; ethnicity - Portuguese). She knows 'everything' that there is to know about parenting, supposedly, and lets the others know it at the first opportunity. She doesn't have any ideas of her own, but rather goes with the flow - or, more correctly, the latest idea. She lets Angelika (usually, but sometimes one of the others) to generate those ideas, or sometimes she finds them on the Internet instead. She is well-intentioned, but sometimes exasperated, and tends to nitpick.

3) Durada Pavlovic - is the voice of 'nature' in the group (ethnicity - a Croatian Slav). She is the one who is always seeking to find the most natural and the most healthy of all foods; the health freak among the friends and the advocate of natural medicine, breast-feeding, etc. Not unlike Irena, she tends to get carried away, but her ideas comes from her own experience, not external sources. Sometimes she butts heads with Angelika, but because the latter has better organisational skills and has a more active imagination and attitude, Angelika usually wins those arguments.

4) Ildo Lazar - is the closest friend of Durada (ethnicity - Hungarian). Unlike Durada, though, who is Ok with modernity in terms of technology and the like, Ildo disdains the machinery, and tries to go for 'authentic' (vintage) first and foremost. She is more laidback than even Durada is, and goes more with the flow; she has fewer arguments with Angelika than Durada has, but she also has fewer ideas than Durada does too. Consequently, when there is an argument going on, Ildo is more often found in the background with Irena, as the taller woman bounces off her ideas about parenting, while their friends talk it out.

5) Iolana Kai is something of the odd one out in the group (ethnicity - Hawaiian/Chinese). She is usually the one in a mess, trying to keep order and sense of what is going on around her; almost never organized, almost always chaotic. She is aware of this, and does her best to pull through - which she does at the last moment, usually through twice the effort that the others would put into this. She and Angelika often argue and fight, simply for argument's sake, (though sometimes Angelika just shows up her friends just to rile them up).
